Adopting a Rottweiler

We aim to place our Rottweilers in homes which are compatible and meets the needs of the dogs. Please note that by enquiring about a particular dog this does not guarantee the adoption of the dog from us.

Potential adoption homes are assessed so we can place our rescue dogs into good homes of individuals who are willing and capable of providing appropriate care and love for this special breed.

All dogs that come into our care are veterinary checked and treated, rehabilitated and assessed/evaluated for suitable placements. Although we do everything we can to make sure the dogs are healthy and are evaluated by experienced carers, we cannot always guarantee to know the dogs full health, temperament and background history.

All Rottweilers are temperament tested and their health and temperament monitored prior to placement. We do not knowingly place aggressive dogs or dogs with bite incidents.

RRSA endeavours to provide potential adoption homes with as much information about the dogs as is available to us. When dogs are adopted the new owner is given verbal education on responsible ownership and supplied a folder containing documentation on temperament, training, behaviour, feeding etc. Support and the option to return the dog back to the Rescue is also available for the lifetime of the dog.

All of our adoptions require a donation to help supplement the cost of food and medical treatment such as; vaccinating, worming, micro-chipping and desexing costs. In some cases this cost is higher than local shelters as we are not subsidised. We are sorry but if we did not request this donation, we could not save these dogs. In most cases we spend more than we get back, but every little bit helps us in our cause to save this wonderful breed.

Thank you for your understanding and also remember that your donation may be tax deductable.
